This slumdog needs a solid, old fashioned butt whipping: open to public, health-care-debate-like telecast, take his pants off, bend him over, highest priority to curry with Z-E-R-O U.S. education.
Who exactly is Ron Hira? What is his motive? why is he doing all this? And why is he so influential?
I am under the impression that he is influentiaal because he does what the antis like.
On a broader note - we all would be happy to see a system which is not so complex and there is a well defined process which Ron Hira also says he wants to see, but his bashing of foreign nationals and employers says he is basically of the kinds "shut the door behind me" attitude.

When you mark your calendar, mark it for 182 days to be safe. You never know USCIS and these employers.. Keep yourself safe from all the complications that might arise if you leave on 180th or 181st day (whether first day is included or not, can I leave on 180th day or do i have to wait for 180 days to complete blah blah.. ) :)

What do u think big companies who cannot sponsor L1 ( have to be with the firm for atleast an year ) do in situations like this.
They sponsor H1 and send them to work here on shorter / longer durations.
So in your case, though you are technically working for ABC, Canada you are still working for ABC per se. This means your visits to the US on your valid H1b will have to be on your company's business.
The catch here is that..at the end of your gc process road, you should be employed by ABC in US. So plan on coming back by that time..

By law: If you take Unemployment benefits => you have become public charge. If you become public charge => you broke AOS condition. Which requires you to be never be public charge. On top of that if you were still on H1b then that would have expired with you loosing your job. So that makes it a good case for removal proceedings if your case gets an audit (which is very likely).
Lookup a similar thread(removal proceedings) in IV.
Get legal help before making a decision like that.

But to be eligible for umeployment insurance benefit, you have to be a legal permanent resident or a citizen.

Hi tinku,
I got apointment in chennai consulate for August 11 and I already have a PCC from SFO Indian consulate which was issued in July last year. Unfortunatly the PCC is valid only for a year so I have to get a new one also. I emailed the Chennai Consulate and got a reply back saying that I might have to get the PCC from my local police station as well as from the passport office.
Hope this information helps.

Don't worry about your I140 getting revoked, AC21 is built for your career, security and comfort keeping in mind the USCIS delays. Go ahead and use it and Good luck. I am in same position you are in..i have applied for an extension for my mother in law for another 6 months ...it's been 5 months still waiting for approval...but i took a chance and made my mothe in-law stay back based on pending approval...its your call how bad you need your monther in-law's help during your daughter's treatment..if possible take the letter form doctors office that your daughter is sick and you need her help in this hard times and attach this letter with you extension application.. this will help for extension..this is what i did..

If you are the primary applicant, then it's definitely a mistake. Call the USCSI customer service and report the issue. Not too much else you can do about it.
