It is common. Your 485 is based on the denied I140. If the I140 is appealed then the 485 will also be tranferred to the Appeals Office. That does not mean you I485 is denied. It is
still under process and you can apply EAD and AP as well.

I have not heard any schedule for these bills. There was a hearing last week, but I couldn't find the outcome of the full hearing. May be someone from IV Core can tell us what is scheduled for the coming days.

Wait time for spouse to get a green card as a derivative from you would be apporximately 5 years since you already have your green card now. the best option is to wait for to get your US citizenship and them apply for your spouse and in that case the max. wait time os only 3-6 months. Yes you can apply for EAD(I-765)/AP(I-131) anytime during 485 pending and send the notice/fedex tracking as a proof for it if required.

1.Did anybody have recently got H1B stamping done in Hyderabad consultate.
Yes, I got it done in October.
2. Any issues with getting appointment dates.
No. The only issue I had was that they don't let you book well in advance, which makes it difficult to plan travel. Also, I did not realize until the last minute that you need to submit your documents 4 days in advance before the interview. Luckily one of my friends told me about it and I was able to request my dad to submit the documents in time. Not sure what would have happened if I did not submit the documents upfront...may be, they might have still allowed me in.
3. I have all the documentation in place including pay stubs in the last 8 years.
Good. I have been working for 8 years as well and took the paystubs for just this year(2010) and tax returns for past 3 years. But, they did not ask anything as I was renewing for the same company for the same job. They just asked what I do for the company.
4. Is it preferable to get stamping done in Canada than in Hyderabad,
I prefer Hyd as that is where my parents live and I don't have to waste travel fares, visa fees (for canada visa), hotel, vacation etc by going to canada. I just got it done when visiting my parents. If you live close to Canada or have special travel needs, then may be Canada should be considered.
5. How many days does it take to get the passport back.
7 days total I think, including weekend.

Hi All,
I received I485 receipts from my lawyer, they are missing my priority date which is in sept 2002. Not sure why they are missing..

My daughter is 3years 5months old and she got FP notice and gave finger prints in Nov 2007. The only change for them is they will get FP Notice with Code 2[means they will take FP for only one hand] and we all get Code 3 FP notice.

I am assuming that you are planning to change employers when you change from H1 to L1.
L1 is only for intra company transfers and you needed to be working with the company for atleast 12 months (used to be 6 months till not long ago) before you are eligible to come in on an L1.
If it is with the same company, that you plan to change from H1 to L1, what is the advantage other than skipping Labor certification if you are on L1A?
If you are on H-1, you cannot apply for L-1. You would have to work for a company outside the US for a period of 1 year before you can apply for a L-1 assuming you are in the US currently.

My I-485 (EB2) was submitted in 2007 and the PD is approaching, only 5 days away based on June's VB. My girlfriend is currently with F-1 visa and we are planning on getting married asap so that she can submit her 485 before my case is approved.
Here's the complete list that I can think of based on the research that I've done.

marriage certificate
medical exam
passport pages (I-94 card ect)
