well I tried it out, it definately is a bit bulky, but not my cup of tea since the search box on firefox does the job well

So: I do believe I can have both Bootcamp and Fusion.. Do they both access the same "Windows" install where I can see my files and stuff? Or is at two separate installs of Windows each only accessible solo?
I hope I can "see" the same Windows 7 via either one. I can use Fusion for quick access and Bootcamp for heavy lifting?
If so, what is the protocol for install?

Excellent post, ★★★★★. Finally I can have Apple Garamond EVERYWHERE. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! One thing, though. FontLab Studio is $650!! Anybody got a suggestion for another app that can do the same thing?

I really don't think Apple will update the Air's with Sandy Bridge.
Here is why, the high resolution display (1440X900) will make the Intel graphics a major downgrade from the 320m in performance. I think the Air will get updated with the next MBP update (2012) and the 13" MBP and MBA become one with Ivy processors. Also at this time I expect the 15" and 17" MBP's to become "Air" like with SSD storage, thinner, and lighter.
I was holding out for the update, but came to this conclusion and made my purchase, which I couldn't be more satisfied with.
I may be wrong, but I would rather have the 320m if they do update it, the Thunderbolt is what will hurt if you use external drives..

shows more than the basics! I got this book for Christmas and it is fantastic. Very easy to follow and if you want to learn specific features it is easy to jump around from section to section.

Tired of Apple's locked ecosystem
Switching to Android.
I travel to China half of the year, I NEED and unlocked phone so that i can pop in my Chinese SIM card when i'm there.
iPhone is just not for me.

I went to the 3G launch at cpw at teesside park. Queue was about 20/30 people at 7am. It opened at 8. If you know it it went from cpw down to brantano. Sold out of 16gbs about half way through the queue.
I think the town centres will be less popular and should be a better bet if you really want a particular model. Plus there's more shops - I think mbro still has two o2's and a cpw?
I hope it's easier this time as I don't fancy another early start. Hopefully other carriers will have it on thursday too to dilute the queues

Well, I do know the Volume Logic is **still** in Beta testing for Intel Macs. I wasn't aware that VL for the PowerPC chips. was encountering playback problems.
Only in iTunes 7 it seems there is a problem. Hopefully the problem will be fixed, i miss my VL already.

I'd like to get a new 17" MBP and I'm wondering what the verdict is on SSD's... are third-party drives still a better option than the ones that come stock from Apple? If so, which brand/model is best? Also, what's the status with TRIM support and garbage collection in all this? Does Apple's current OS/hardware have either of these yet? If not, will Lion have TRIM support?

I enjoyed this post immensely as well. As someone in the chemical/nuclear engineering industry, my clients always gripe and complain about corporate greed when big bad oil makes $10 billion in profit in a quarter, but when Apple does it everyone sings their praises as their money goes right into Steve Jobs's bank account and talks about how great it is that the money they've worked for sits somewhere cross-country in the form of numbers on paper.
