I was getting ready for work when the attacks happened. I did not hear about them until I was in my car driving. I was listening to an alternative rock station often known for pulling pranks, so when they first said the US was "under attack" and that both WTC buildings and the Pentagon had been hit by commerical airliners, I thought it was a sick joke done in poor taste... you know, like War of the Worlds or something.
I quickly switched to NPR and heard the same report and I then realized it was true. I went to work - at the time I was an operator in the tech support department of a software company. We received very few calls that day and most of my dept alternated between checking news sites (when we could reach them) and a TV in the other room. The few calls we received were from international customers, many of them offered their condolences. I don't think we received one call from an American customer that afternoon.

Thanks for the answer above. I do use a lot of things where I need to use my software for business related tasks.
I am torn. Don't know whether to give up Numbers without a fight.
Where can I get MS Office for Mac?

I tied both and it's gave the same warning
Tried both? You've only posted one attempted solution. Please don't expect us to guess what the other one was. If you haven't already, I'd suggest reading through What Have You Tried (http://whathaveyoutried.com) and especially the kinder, gentler Getting Answers (http://www.mikeash.com/getting_answers.html).

Hi,
I just bought an iPhone 4, and was looking for a nice wallpaper. Then I saw the default surfing wallpaper, it looked nice to me and I setted it as wallpaper. I also did this for my iPad, now I want it too for my MBP 13''. So I moved the wallpaper from my iPad to my Mac, but it looks horrible as the resolution is 1024 x 704. My Mac's resolution is 1280 x 800. It just doesn't look nice. So in iPhoto I resized it to 1280 x 800 but it still doesn't look nice. I dont' have Photoshop, but I know with Photoshop you can do almost everything with a picture. So can you 'master photoshoppers' please resize the image to
1280 x 800 without pixelization, as I'm almost certain that is possible in Photoshop.
Thanks
The Wallpaper:
Dude, the only way to get it without pixelation (as far as I know) is to use Vector Graphics. Try Tineye (http://www.tineye.com).
It may help you with finding that image.

Yeah, make sure it isn't some CPU enclousure. My old computer table had a cubby for the CPU and it was always hot in there. I finally decided to remove the back panel and the temp dropped a great deal. I never measured to see how hot it was in there, but 140 seems a bit much.

u make it sound so easy, the iPhone 4 can't be unlocked with the latest baseband yet
exactly, thats how it works here in germany. u either buy it unlocked but not subsidized without a plan or u get it locked for like 1 euro and once your contract expires after 2 years u get it unlocked for free OR u pay 100 euro to get it unlocked right away which is still cheaper considering the iPhone itself was only 1 euro.
That is NOT how it works in Germany!!
If you got your iPhone 4 for 1 Euro you are paying 89,96 Euro MONTHLY, which equals about 130 US-Dollars ---->
See this link:
http://www.t-mobile.de/iphone/tarife/0,18383,22271-_,00.html
And after you got your iPhone 4 you can NOT unlock it for 99 Euros, T-Mobile Germany specifically excludes the iPhone 4 from this offer. All other T-Mobile Phones you can unlock, not the iPhone 4. --->

My roommate is taking a geography class in college right now. (Just an FYI, he is an older student in his 30's).
His teacher works for google on their maps. He has slipped in class several times saying Apple is working on putting GPS into the iPod. (He, the teacher, knows this because it is what he does full time for Google).
Anyway, this looks like the GPS in iPhoto is not related to the iPod, but eh you never know, iPhoto does work with the iPod in a way now as it is...
Yeah, that makes no sense. I mean, i guess the iPod could be loaded with GPS navigation software, but that's still much less useful than putting it in a device like the iPhone. Plus, in the context of this thread, an iPod can't take pictures, whereas an iPhone almost certainly will be able to.
Probably the professor was was told it's the iPod, which would set constraints on screen size, etc - but actually the GPS is going to be in the iPhone....

Re: Yeah and Disney is shut down the service after 8 months with little or no interest in the service. And is going to cost them $30 million to shut it down and as Disney and Apple sharehold it think it is a bad business model to be in.
Yeah, this is like saying selling legal music downloads is bad since Wal-Mart has not been as successful as Apple.
Granted, I would most likely never purchase a Disney phone. However, I would certainly consider purchasing an Apple phone. Apple knows as well as its user base than an Apple phone has to work and have cool features either not available elsewhere or features that "just work." Google has been built on the Apple model of simple is better. Powerful features are available, but not placed front and center as akward apps made by less successful companies.

The government has the constitutional power to tax people. It's the price we all pay for living in this country. Freedom isn't free, right? Why is it that conservatives only seem to want pay that price in human blood?
Other, since the answers are no exhaustive. There isn't an option to say the government has the right to take money periodically to support the services it uses to protect its citizens and support a legislative agenda set by lawmakers elected in a democratic election.

Maybe if I threw in an extra $2 bill on top of that $50 then they might "find" one in the back. What do you think? Haha.
I'll do it for $100 and meet you halfway in Draper.

I am trying to do this similar thing - but I am confused
Do I need a pc software based VPN? Can't I just use my router VPN? I have tried VPN with just iPad and router but not working. I wonder if it is because my ip address to my router from cablevision is not static? Although my router ip hasn't changed since I started trying to do this, it keep failing.
Argh I am so pissed that I can't figure this out even with google
